Disney. From the sublime to the ridiculous.

I still remember those moments from my childhood where I enjoyed every adventure Disney told us about. Fantastic stories where love always won any circumstance in life. Beautiful moments that still remain in my memory after so many years.

Over the years I have grown and with it reached maturity and although I lead a hectic life, I never give up the idea of sitting in front of the television every weekend to enjoy some entertainment and thus relax the stress it causes the joy of living.

In addition to being an entrepreneur, I consider myself passionate about animation, especially those produced in the 60s, 70s, 90s and 2000s. Years when the creativity of Companies like Disney, Pixar or even Dream Work presented higher levels compared to the films that are produced by these same companies today. I am also a fan of Japanese animation, with which, due to cultural reasons, I do not feel identified, although I highly value the creative work of companies based in that country, especially Studio Ghibli, author of so many classics.

I am writing this article because I, like thousands of Disney animation lovers, have felt betrayed by a company that has completely lost its way in a negative way.  What began with a project made to tell real or fictional stories, show values and human cadences from an intelligent, creative perspective and suitable for people of all ages, has become today a platform that only goes after the money, creating content based on public opinion. Content which accommodates your message to a certain or certain political discourse in order to please a certain sector of society. Disney has stopped being an entertainment company to become a political agenda.

Why create something new and spectacular in a society where most do not pay attention to these details and where time passes too quickly?

Creating fascinating animated stories in an innovative way is no longer the goal, which is why companies like Disney, among so much demand, competition and lack of creativity, have decided to readapt many of their classics to today's society, thus destroying their essence. Secondly, the emergence of new content distribution platforms such as Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime, Apple TV etc. They have created a situation where Disney has been forced to release almost any content regardless of its quality simply for economic reasons. Also due to all this, many of the recording sets and work personnel are not enough to create so many projects in such a short time, bringing with it a significant impact on the final quality of the product.

This is one of the main reasons why many of the new movies from a company as prestigious as Marvel lack good special effects despite having better technologies than in past years. The fall in Netflix's shares has not been a coincidence, people are stopping consuming the content that this platform offers because it has ceased to be liked by many. Much of the blame for the drop in the number of users of this platform is due to the editorial line of the content provided by it, which clearly conforms to political discourses established by left-wing groups. Campaigns to abolish alleged racial issues and excessive LGBT content are the main examples, although luckily in capitalist countries the free market has the power and the power belongs to all of us.

Thanks Disney for all those great animations from over 20 years ago, I'll stick with that and nothing more.
